We might not say it enough, but we absolutely love our Dental Assistants here at Heroes Dental! They play a key role in the success of our practice and are vital team members at every quality dental clinic around the nation.

Our dental assistants are an underlying source of strength for our entire practice and help to make our patients’ experiences the best possible. Knowledgeable, committed, friendly, and professional, dental assistants are dedicated to your family’s oral health.

Dental assistants put in a lot of extra work and effort to keep dental clinics working as they should. That’s why they deserve Dental Assistants Recognition Week, which is observed nationally from March 3rd through the 9th.

We couldn’t be more grateful for our super dental assistants here at Heroes Dental. Join us in celebrating these devoted dental health experts who strive day in and day out to give our family’s the best smiles possible.

“Today’s Dental Assistants – Polished, Poised & Professional”

“Today’s Dental Assistants – Polished, Poised & Professional” is the theme for this year’s Dental Assistants Recognition Week. Dentists all around the U.S. (and Canada) celebrate this week honoring their dental assistants and the wide variety of duties they perform.

Dentists know that one of the best ways to enhance the delivery of oral health care is to have dental assistants on staff. With strong communication skills, expert ability to deliver quality dental health care, and an incredible sense of responsibility, dental assistants are the ultimate team player.

A dental assistant’s duties can vary greatly and they handle some of the most challenging tasks at a dental office. It’s thanks to their ability and expertise in combining technical and interpersonal skills that they are capable of performing tasks that include:

  • Assisting the dentist during treatment procedures.
  • Taking x-rays.
  • Asking for patient’s medical history, taking blood pressure and pulse.
  • Serving as an infection control officer, preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
  • Helping patients feel comfortable.
  • Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures.
  • Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
  • Taking impressions of patients’ teeth.
  • Performing office management tasks.
  • Communicating with patients and suppliers.
  • Helping provide quality direct patient care in all dental specialties.

“It takes a special person to be a dental assistant,” says Dr. Joseph G. Unger, chair of the ADA Council on Dental Practice. “Dental assistants balance a variety of high priority responsibilities that benefit the patient, the dentist, other members of the team and the practice itself. The combination of their clinical knowledge and people skills makes them an important asset to their office. The ADA encourages all dentists to observe Dental Assistants Recognition Week by recognizing the contributions of these valued staff members.”

Our dental assistants put the hero in Heroes Dental.

Join us in celebrating the importance and value of these important members of our team.

Whether working alongside our dentists or helping to manage the office, our dental assistants are a core piece of our team and operations. Heroes Dental is excited to recognize the contributions of our fantastic dental assistants in our clinics.
